What better way to kick off the New Year than a networking lunch with fellow Ducks? Looking to connect with others for a new job, clients or other opportunities? Duck Biz Group Co-Founder Larry LaMotte will lead our discussion as we share professional stories and aspirations for the new year.
Please bring cash – the fee covers lunch, tip and room rental. We hope you can join us!
Join us for a special Duck Biz Group lunch in February as we welcome Dr. Roger J. Thompson, vice president for the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management at the University of Oregon.
Dr. Thompson will discuss the challenges the University is facing in attracting a diverse population of students, from an ethnic to socioeconomic perspective, as well as how alumni can help the current student experience.
He is responsible for services that contribute to enhancing the student experience, recruitment, retention, and graduation. His portfolio also includes providing online and continuing education for the community.
Thompson leads an organization of more than 1,500 team members and an operating and scholarship budget in excess of $150 million. Further, enrollment at the UO has reached record levels for total enrollment; academic quality; diversity, including ethnicity, socio-economic, and international representation; and freshmen-to-sophomore retention rates during Thompson’s tenure.

If it ain’t broke, why fix it! (Right??)
That’s why we’re bringing back our Duck Biz Lunch/Safeco Field Tour for the March 21st lunch at Pyramid Alehouse, conveniently located right across the street from the ballpark.
But, if you want to tour Safeco, you must register for the lunch no later than March 19th.
This is traditionally one of our most well-attended event each year. We’re expecting another big turnout this year, and that’s why we need you to register as early as possible.
Our host, Oregon alum and Mariners Senior Account Manager Chuck Viltz, has graciously agreed to lead the tour again this year. At the lunch, we’ll hear from Chuck about the Mariners, maybe throw in a little trivia and then head to the ballpark.
